The challenge

The centrepiece atrium required a long-span curved glazed roof admitting maximum daylight while controlling solar gain and integrating smoke ventilation.

The riverside gallery facade demanded frameless transparency to connect the interior with the waterfront setting.

Our solution

We engineered a bespoke barrel-vault roof with thermally broken aluminium rafters, laminated overhead safety glass and integrated drainage and AOV smoke vents.

Selective solar-control and self-cleaning glass managed heat gain and lifecycle maintenance under the large glazed roof.

A frameless bolt-fixed glazing system delivered the uninterrupted riverside elevation specified by the architect.

The result

The daylit atrium has become the social heart of the venue, with solar modelling confirming comfortable conditions year-round.

The project was shortlisted regionally for its facade engineering and contribution to the cultural quarter.
